  • After four years, finaly got my first keeper rockfish.

    Today, I caught:

    -- 7 Rock fish.

-- The biggest were 20 and 23 inches. But the 20 inch one, was just exactly at 20. So, I literally gave it a kiss and sent it back.

-- It's in the frig at work now. I'll take a picture of it when I get home.

    A couple of thanks:

All of snaggedline: Thanks for putting up with me for so long. I'm a slow learner. I appreciate your patience and help.

Steve (aka supfisher01): Many thanks for all your help. Going out with you last fall was a huge help.

    Best Regards,
    Stan

Some of us are still living vicariously through you, haven't caught a keeper yet for '17, not havent had enough time off work / good weather / LIFE happens / priorities to maximize my fishing trips this year.

Congrats, 23" is no slouch I bet the fight was fantastic!

Nice! I know it took me a few months of trial and error last year to get my technique/tackle dialed in. I have only been out once so far after the June 1st limit change, and didn't catch any keeper size stripers that trip. Of course I caught a few in various spots in the trips before that though, oh well. I'm sure yours is one of many to follow this summer.

I know he's been busy. I caught him at the right time last fall. Did you want to go out with me sometime? I cannot go for a few weeks. But, then I'm game.

                  Best Regards,
                  San

                      Stan,

Your persistence and drive finally paid off handsomely! I am happy to be a part of your success but don't sell yourself short. Without putting in your time, all the advice in the world couldn't help you catch a cold. Great job!!!

The 23" fish you caught is a solid river fish that put up a great fight and make for perfect family portion grillables. I'm sure this will be the most delicious rockfish you have ever tasted!

                      Congrats!!
