  • Fishing the Cuckold Creek

Fished the Cuckold Creek tonight for about 2 1/2 hours. I was targeting specks and reds. I started fishing around walls and rocks and caught 1 white perch on a gold Little Cleo spoon 1/8 once. I fished a while longer and caught two more perch on the spoon and a white 2 in. paddle tail grub. I hooked into a Cownose ray with the grub and fought it for about ten minutes at which point I decided it was too much for my ultra light rig and cut the line. Afterwards I caught 5 more perch on the spoon. I also fished a 4 in. Salt Water Assassin for a speck red it striper with no takers. I used Electric Chicken and Salt and Pepper with Chartreuse tail colors. It was a beautiful evening on the water and at least I wasn't skunked.

Yes, it feeds the Patuxent near Hollywood, MD. It is a good free launch spot at the end of Clark's Landing rd in St Mary's county
