  • Catch of the day.

Had a great day. The weather was awesome. It wasn't too hot or windy. There were alot of kayakers on the water and well as motorized boats. Goody1 and I hit the water at Triadelphia for a few hours from 2-5. We tried something new by tying his yak to mine so they were side by side, sort of like catamaran. He loved it, didn't have to paddle, just sat back and fished. His highlight was catching a 16" catfish which put up a good fight for him. We ended catching crappies, wp, a catfish and walleyes. Kept 3 crappies and one 16" walleye.

Big Catch of the day. Happy Father's day to all the dads out there.

I took both of us around majority of the time. On the way back probably a 1/4 of way I let him hop into the outback and I hopped into his Maui. His Maui moved and tracked really good. I paddle for about two football field length and boy was I pooped. It made me realize and remember why I got the Outback in the first place. Ended up tying the kayak back together side by side. I let him peddle us both in the rest of the way. This is the way to fish. Next time I need to let him peddle us around while I fish.

Looks like an awesome fathers day! I always tow my dad and friends around in my hobie. Paddling is for the birds and you barely feel it when towing another boat

You guys are doing something right. I don't remember anyone catching so many Walleyes in the previous few years out of there.

I'm enjoying it before he goes off and does his own thing. A time will come when it's not cool to hang out with dad. LOL

I think the walleye population density has increased. It will be interesting to see what happens in future years.

Or are there just more of us targeting walleye? I think the majority of people fishing these impoundments focus on bass. Not that you can't catch walleye while fishing for bass, but you certainly catch more bass fishing for walleye; than catching walleye while fishing for bass.

I think Goody and Son took the last walleye out of there, y'all probably won't see another one...you can go back to bass and not feel like you're missing something.

Ive been targeting them for 4 years and it took me 2 years to finally catch my first one there.
I have yet to run into them at the Gorge.

I'm going to be hitting the Gorge for some evening fishing and see if I can find any. Hopefully tomorrow.

The Gorge has walleyes between the powerlines and dam area supposedly:
