  • Kayaker shot in AA County

I saw this article from the NBC 4 news feed. http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/lo...FlowFB_DCBrand That is really disconcerting.

Maryland Natural Resources police said a kayaker was shot Saturday night while taking a break from paddling in Anne Arundel County.

Officials said he launched his kayak from a friend’s home near Pasadena, but was unable to make it back to shore until Sunday morning. He told police he was taking a rest from paddling when he saw a red dot near the lower part of his stomach and felt an excruciating amount of pain shortly thereafter.

He was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries. Police said doctors are working to remove the bullet.

The victim is 56 yrs. of age from Reston, Va., and was visiting friends in the Pasadena area. Police are not releasing his name at this time.

Wow. That's scary! It would be bad enough if it were an accident, but that's no accident.

Man that's very unfortunate! Hope he has a healthy and speedy recovery. I never would of thought I'd be hearing that happening

First and foremost, I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. That said, I'm curious to hear if it was totally random or if there had been any exchange of words, previous interaction, etc. Wonder if we will ever get the full story.

Just heard his name eas David S from Reston, Va. Did not ever expect that in my neck of the woods. The Bodkin is one of the safest places to be on the water. I hope he has a speedy recovery and that they catch the P.O.S. that shot him.

                    This story makes zero sense.
So was the guy fishing at night?
So it took him until the next morning to get back to land?
                    Was he trespassing?
It says he was taking a rest, so did he beach his kayak someplace and take a nap in it?
Did he go on someone's property, get out of his kayak and take a leak?

Very strange. I'm not familiar with the area.

My wife just yelled over..."did you hear about the kayaker that got shot?!" It's on the news right now and word has officially reached my wife, which can mean nothing good for me and the amount of time I want to spend on the bay.

I agree. The more I hear of this shooting on the Baltimore news the more I think there's something not right here. There's got to lot more to the story.

Sounds like the beginning to an episode of CSI or NCIS

                              Strange story for sure.
