  • "Marine" silicone sealant vs "non-marine"?

WTF is the difference? I have both, and will use the marine one...just wondering if there's a difference if they're both waterproof.

Check the ingredients... my guess is it's just marketing. I used the regular and it's working fine.

marine grade probably has some extra ingredients to stand up to saltwater environments. marine or 100% silicone both will work fine

I have used both. They will both do the job, as both seal. It is just to seal under a flange. To me goop seems to set up into a more tuff or solid finish. The silicone seems to be more flexible. I have been using the goop more often, as it seems stronger. For me, the jury is still out on this one. I would hope that anything marine would have some UV protection added.
