Upper Severn 7/5

Headed out about 5:30 this morning with a friend who's new to kayak fishing. Today was his first trip out. We trolled for awhile without much luck. The white perch cooperated and we each caught several from guppy size up to about 10". The trolling turned on for a few minutes and I managed a 12, 14, 16, and a 17 3/4. Probably could have stretched the last one.

I got to test the UL I built over the winter as well as a Penn Battle 4000 I picked up. Obviously different rods, but I was happy with both. All in all it was a beautiful morning and my buddy had a great first trip!

Oh yeah, I was back to my old standby setup. 1/2 oz jighead and a bass assassin. Fish were in 15-20'. Most were hanging around 10-12', but they were all over the map.
