I tried Romancoke for the first time today. What a trip it was.
Nice place. Easy launch, although the parking is $10. Nice drop offs all around which I thought would hold some stripers.
I hit the water at 2pm and fished till 9pm. The weather was great. Very light wind, not too hot. Calm seas.
I caught a bunch of really baby stripers on bloodworms. I was trying to get croakers... no luck.
I trolled xraps for hours, following the drop off contours, bu only managed 3 rays!! Argh! They all got snagged on the same xrap (which I no longer own, because the last ray - cownose- was too powerful for me and I had to cut the line after a 30 minute fight.) I don't know why, but all 3 rays were snagged on the left wing. Rediculous creatures... leave me alone!
Tomorrow I need to catch a striper.
