I've been told by several people and in books that Swan Creek and the surrounding areas offers very good fishing. It's on the north side of Aberdeen Proving Grounds. On my way up to the flats last weekend I wanted to scope out a launch location.
This link courtesy of Shadyfisher shows two locations:
I scoped out the area but got turned around back there and never found a spot. I spoke to a security guard when I stumbled upon Father Martins Ashley, which I thought looked like a country club, turns out to be a rehab center. He said I could go to swan harbor, but it's a little further paddle from the north.
The map also shows ELEANOR & MILLARD TYDINGS PARK which is really just a patch of undeveloped county owned land. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/boating/p...onHarford5.pdf Specific comments from this page are: Please note that this launch area is very primitive and remote. A narrow, unimproved
drive lead to a small shoreline area that can be steep. There is no parking immediately
at the launch site. Visitors should park along the road beside the farmfields, proceed
with caution as this area is very difficult to navigate and influenced by tides.
From http://atlas.freshlogicstudios.com/ I can use the birds eye view for detailed images but I can't see a launch.
Is anyone familiar with this or fishes swan creek? It could be a great spot for spring stripers.
