        I toyed with the Scotty mount option, as the Scotty base provides more utility/versatility. But I liked the cleaner look of this mount. *stare*

          I guess you save the cost of the Scotty mount. Looks like either way works, but the mount gives you the option of adding an extension arm.

                    What kind of mount is that it looks nice.

                    How easy is it to take the camera on and off the mount base?

                      It's pretty easy to quickly remove the camera. It is attached via a standard tripod mount screw...so you just have to unscrew it to loosen and remove it. The back half of the mount is designed for a go pro case. I think it just slides on & off if ur using a go pro camera.
