  • finally pulled the trigger

I finally pulled the trigger on a new fish finder. I purchased the humminbird 788ci hd di. I'm really looking forward to seeing what's down there using the down imaging. I opted not to get the side imaging for the extra $200 because I'm not sure I'll get a ton of detail on the 5" screen and looking at the side by side comparison at bps, the 788 had a much nicer screen and resolution...maybe because it's a newer model. I made my purchase at universalmania which is by far the cheapest. I saved $150 compared to bps, which may go towards a navionics chip I've never used the site before but I've seen enough reviews to think that they are pretty good. I'll let you guys know since they seem to have everything under the sun.

I hope to have it all set up in time for the susky perch jerkin!

Very cool. I'd like to see some screen shots when you take it out.

I'll post some images when I can. I should be able to get up to the susky in a week or two and experiment. I'll be the guy that spends 4 hours trying to figure out the ff and 1 hour actually fishing

Metro, are you coming to the feb meet and greet?

Congrats on a great purchase. I want the same thing but I just bought the 385ci. I like the new down imaging feature. On demo it looks sweet. You can actually see tree limbs on a submerged tree!!
