I just read a report on another board of a kayaker picking up a 40 lb'er in the rips outside the ships yesterday. It was caught casting a free lined eel and reeling it back slowly. After he landed it his weighted eel got picked up as well but he lost it.

Hope the weather holds up for you guys heading down there his weekend. Stay safe.

Saturday and Sunday wind forecasts are improving. Not looking too bad right now. It's Kipto time!

Angler's has some eels. Clyde's does not. Chris' is closed on Jan 1. I plan on picking up some eels Saturday evening at Angler's (they close at 6pm).

I'm gonna try the ships for a while, and if no bite, I'll drift down towards the bridge along the beach channel.

Dang! Two parties back to back - one is hosted by my wife. I just detailed her SUV after cleanning the house. But still it is "no go".

Good luck guys! I am waiting for good reports.

I'm leaving around 8am... hoping to be there by noon.

Are you sure Ocean's is open on New Year's day?

I have two eels and 6 salties still alive from my trip down at the begining of the month. Let me know if anyone wants them for a really good price...

I'm gonna need more than 2, so I have to go by Angler's anyway. But thanks.

You should take those Salties for blue cats in the Potomac!

Kipto was slow today, no rock and only one guy had a dogfish. We hit hrbt after and it was slow too. Had a few bumps and one fish to the boat. Long day!

I was going to call them today and make sure.

I should be at Kiptp about the same time.

Skunked at the ships today. Fished from 6am to 11am. Then it got rough and I went back. Talked to several yakers... The ships haven't been giving up many stripers this year, they say. One guy had driven down from NJ for the weekend. Skunked both days.

Unless I start seeing some really good consistent reports, I'm gonna leave the ships alone for now and stay local like you wise men who are catching all the perch, rock and pickerel in the Severn

I am with you chexone, I got to kipto around 11:45 and it was blowing hard. I. Talked to 4 other guys who got there at the same time we all decided not to go out. I did swing back in around 3:15 and wind had dropped some and turned from the west so I went out for a few hours. The only thing I got was wind burn on my face. By 8:00 I was done with it. Just stop to grab a bite to eat and then finish the drive home
