I don't generally see or read the Capital Gazette or Baltimore Sun. Not a MSSA member, but I've fished in some of their tournaments and supported some of their efforts. Snagged Line is the only fishing forum I visit regularly these days. While I get the majority of my fishing fix these days from a kayak, I still head out from time to time on friends' boats. All this is to say I was shocked when a fishing buddy informed me recently about the situation the MSSA is currently facing. For those that were unaware:

I've refrained from posting here, its ashame what has happened to MSSA and the tournament winners.

ABC2News recently ran a story on-air, and AACPD has an active investigation into MSSA. It seems the person who recently resigned had held the position for the past 10 years, good luck going back through that much book-keeping to investigate misappropriation of funds / irregularities / fraud.

Yeah ....... well ......... the guy before him screwed the fresh water fishermen by supporting an increase in licensing fees with a guarantee that the funds would go only to fishing and not the general fund. Then supported a last minute unannounced change to delete that portion for support for him to get a seat on the advisory council. His name was Windley. Since then the regs have been to support catch and Kill tournaments.
