    Thanks Mark,

    Have heard good things on this site (I check it regularly) about Shipping Creek and may give it a try. Any suggestions on what kind of lure might work this time of year while trolling ? Thanks for all of your insight - hope I can share helpful info with you down the road....

      Shipping Creek offers access to excellent water.

      For sheer simplicity and effectiveness, it's hard to beat a 3 inch paddletail on a jig head. Trolling, I would use a 1/2 oz. jig to get it down. For casting to shallows, I would use a 1/8 oz. jig.

      I used this very paddletail a few days ago to catch a lot of stripers:

      Disregard the chipped paint, the eye missing from the jig and the plastic starting to tear. It still attracted fish. And their bellies were full.
