Speaking of heading out, the warmth (however fickle) and potentially decent winds for this weekend and Monday have me thinking about scratching the fishing itch for the first time since that cold snap. Anyone have any thoughts on a location that might not have an iced launch? Rock, cats, and perch are all fair game as long as I can get on the water. I know there's a lot to consider with the dangers the ice presents. Also, for anyone who wants it, here's some info on that from today- Ice Map.jpg

        Thanks for any info!

Gotta play it be ear, the warm weather may do it to the ice that is covering moving water in tidal areas, but lakes and ponds are going to take a while...all the launch areas I know of have iced in or have lots of ice nearby...too dicey for me right now...maybe next week if it stays above freezing during daytime...

The very shallow drainage ponds I pass on the way home were just skimmed over today, so I have hope I can find some shallow spots to bank fish tomorrow.
