  • CBBT (Keeper BSB!?!?) Fri 11-24-17

Looking for togs, I fished with frozen shrimp from the 1st to the 2nd SBC. I caught four short togs and many BSB and toads. Largest tog was 15”. I did get a good hook up during late morning, but it came off. I think it was a keeper tog.

The surprise of the day was a 13” BSB because most of these fish around the area are small. This was the second keeper size BSB I caught in the many years I’ve fished this place.

I got only a few blips on the fish-finder all day. Maybe stripers.

You know, it’s hard to get keeper tog nowadays. Or maybe colder water temp will bring’em out.

The 5-10 kt winds made it sort of cold, but the day was good; 1-2 ft waves/surf, air in 50s, and blue sky. Water temp: 52 deg.

    Efrin,
Was the BSB the second keeper out of a million? I finally got one keeper this year at 13". I don't know why it's so hard to find a keeper size tog. Perhaps next week will be better.

      More like two million.

I'm not sure if OC or CHSP is better for keeper togs.

In my own records, December wasn't good. But it's been warm this year. I think it may be better this weekend at CHSP.
