  • Heading to spriggs in the morning

Anyone else going to be on the magothy?
Any pointers, it's my first time out on the magothy in a few months.

Are you launching from Spriggs? I am nearby and have kayak loaded but I'm pretty sure the honey do's are not going to allow me to get out till late afternoon or Sunday morning.. Good luck!

I haven't been on the Magothy in a while either. I am anxious for your report!

Heading to spriggs in the morning

Caught a ton of small stripers 10-12" fish and one bigger 16"
Plenty of perch and bait on the screen.
Worked my way from spriggs to the start of the channel at the mouth of the magothy.

Roger that. Thanks for the follow up. Did you make it out by Dobbins Island at all?

Try going up river the next time. From the launch head to the channel marker(Ulmstaed point) that is off the point where the park is. Caught some nice ones really close to the launch in front of the two coves heading up to that marker. Out from the point marker and to the one directly across the river from it was also a good area. Not so much mid channel but at both sides.

Careful as it is a bad area for boat traffic. Love tha lauch but the boat traffic with the channel being so wide can get crazy. They can come east, west, north, or south and every way between. Also watch the wind. It can go from very nice to somewhat scary with really not that much of a wind depending on what the tide is doing.
