  • Flounder in the Severn?

My friend just caught a small fluke in the seven under some docs. Have others caught the same?

I caught a 4" Hogchoker in Weems Creek several years ago.
Looked like this, not my picture.

My 7 year old caught a baby flounder from patuxent, near Solomons, couple weekends back.

In 15 years of fishing the Severn creeks, I have caught only one flounder. It was well upriver in Maynadier Creek.

I caught one in Church Creek near the RT 2 bridge last summer dragging a light jig with white twister tail.

                I remember that. Here's a photo of John's fish:

He caught it last November 7.

Also, I was present when On the fly (Harry) caught one in the Severn on his fly rod. He was near Manresa when he hooked it. I saw it but I don't have a photo.

I caught a 12 inch fluke last year on a mini crankbait fishing for perch along the shoreline. Fought pretty hard on my ultralight rod

Recently, someone on a kayak caught a keeper flounder just south of the South River. Also, someone caught a surprise flounder at the Bay Bridge during a past CBKA Tournament.

I have caught two on the same morning a couple years ago. They were caught over the oyster beds near old railroad bridge in about 14' of water. Oddly on my fly rod with sinking line. They were small, undersized.
