  • First Flounder

I went to Rudee yesterday to try the outgoing tide for flounder. I'd never caught a flounder before yesterday, so I decided to spend majority of the day trying to find them. I fished a few areas I had scouted previously in the spring that had ledges and some current. I used a white Gulp mullet and couldn't decide what weight jig heads to use for the areas I was fishing. I used a 1/8 (red) and 1/4 oz (white) for casting and both produced fish. The water only went down to about 13' at the deepest on the ledges I fished. The three flounder I caught were about 14-15" and the bite shut down once the tide slowed down. I caught three small specks later, when I was trolling on the way back in.
