  • Volunteers needed

The Maryland Chapter of Heroes on the Water is seeking volunteers. Especially kayak fishing guides. The veteran sign up rate exploded last year and has continued this year. We are in great need of fishing guides to help us put these events on. We support all veterans, 1st responders and their families. We especially work closely with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Veterans Administration to include their clinics and hospitals in Maryland to help these deserving troops recover, rehabilitate and re-enter civilian life. For those that are not familiar with HOW, Heroes on the Water is a nation-wide, non-profit organization that is 100% volunteer at the chapter level. The chapters are responsible for raising their own operating funds, volunteers and leadership staff. We purchase all the gear that is used by the chapter to put these events on. Currently we can put 32 veterans, 1st Responders and their families on the water at one time. We need fishing guide volunteers to help them have a great time on the water. Please consider coming at and volunteering. Our Facebookstanding.jpgevent pic.jpgevent pic.jpgstanding.jpg13939462_666620946821284_3243576143674569239_n.jpg page: https://www.facebook.com/HeroesOnThe...rylandChapter/ is open to all and there you can see everything that we have been up to for the last five years in Maryland. You can also sign up for events by clicking the event tab and selecting the events you would like to help with. No one expects anyone to be at each event. We all have families and careers. Come out and try us. I believe that if you do, you will see first hand how worthwhile this is and really enjoy yourself with a great bunch of people. Veterans and families that truly appreciate what you are doing for them. Hope to see you on the water. Coop
