  • Teach a kid to fish----Bushwood catfish edition

Our annual school charity auction was Saturday. Thanks to BassPro we auctioned off a nice SOT kayak with a St Mary's Lake bass fishing lesson from snaggedline's "Big Mike".
A minor item in the auction was a fishing trip with the school principal.....me. We hit Bushwood the next day(Sunday) for blue catfish. The weather and catfish were agreeable. The fish were just the right size for this 4th grade fisher woman! After she caught the first 6 fish, she declared, "I think that is enough for dinner," and the trip was over.

It is that time of year........everyone take a youngster fishing!

Nicely done, sounds like she had a blast! I was there Sunday as well, and the weather and fishing were excellent.

We got on the water around 8 and were off by 12:30. We were fishing about a half mile from the pier.

No worries, somehow I missed you. My only focus on the way in was getting something to eat, so I must not have been paying attention. I'll let you know next time we plan on coming down, I really like fishing there.

                            Nice going Kevin

It's important to get kids exposed to nature, so that we have a greater chance of preserving it. Not to mention how fun it is to watch a kid catch a fish!
