        Yup been there done that too
        I've even caught a crab in davidsonville on the Patuxent cat fishing one day.

              Luckily for me a crab boat was near by and I went over and he took it off the hook for me and into his pot! A win-win for everybody except the crab

                  DNR says the female crab population is showing a "banner year" harvest this year- I have noticed that anytime we have a good crab year we have excellent fishing for all my favorite species- speckled trout, redfish, striped bass and cobia all eat blue crabs...
