  • Tie down hack...no more vibrating straps

I'm not sure why I didn't think of this sooner. I always hate when I have to stop on the side of the highway because my straps are humming so loud I can't hear my music. Just slide your straps through a pool noodle. Done. No more hum

A quick twist of the strap works well, also.

That's correct. Just twist the strap and no vibration. Kind of counter intuitive. [emoji226]

The pool noodle is a good idea.

But as the others said, twisting the straps will alter the airflow over them and stop the annoying hum.

I have to twist mine not only over the portion that crosses the center of my kayaks but also from the gunnels to my roof rack. (I carry my boats hull-side down.)

If I don't do the twist it's a very noisy ride.

I turn up the radio so I don't hear them.
