      Maybe if this is a short cold snap...62 degree water needs some sustained 80 degree days...with 50 (+) degree nights

        It's not just temperature...

        Photoperiod (the length of daylight as the calendar changes) controls migration and breeding in many animals, fish included.

        We as anglers get excited when temperatures are unseasonably warm, as they have been this winter, but the fish often are not present in the numbers we'd like.

        Eventually, they'll get here as the temperatures rise AND the days get longer.

        It's fun to anticipate the arrival of our favorite fish targets but it's out of our hands.

              You definitely have the upper hand for the majority of the incoming migration down there but they're known to come in through the the C&D as well so we both have first dibs!
