            FYI, Lampreys are not Eels, they are more closely related to sharks- cartilage body, no bones.

              Since the first time I saw one, I've always considered them an eel due to the captains always "telling me". I know better now.

                  If I remember correctly, the rationale for prohibiting fishing in the headwaters of the Severn from the Route 3 Bridge downstream for 2,400’ during February, March, and April is to protect yellow perch during their spawning run. Same restrictions applies to the headwaters of the Magothy from the base of Lake Waterford Dam downstream 3,300’.
