Very nice. This seems to be a common setup for yellow perch. What is the point of the bobber vs just jigging off the bottom?

I just like knowing exactly when they hit . I notice a lot of times bass fishing yellows like to come up to hit things . I've caught them well drop shoting

Where I was fishing the perch were deep. Usually 20 feet of water, give or take. I caught them vertical jigging silver buddies. At what water temp do they go shallow. I would love to know so I can target them with my fly rod a little better. I have some deadly shad patterns that the perch will love too.

Around 40 degrees I've always been told . But where I am . 20 ft deep is very far away . These perch are staging to spawn

It was 42 degrees water temp the other day and they still haven't moved into the river all of the way. This is just the beginning of the run here. In the next few weeks they should be running better for what I am told.

There is a lot of deep areas in the Occoquan. There were some places that were 30 feet deep that I was fishing.

Yeh with deeper water around it's always different . The magothy has like 17 ft out in the main river . But these fish stay shallow year round usually

Very nice video. Do you tend to fish in the magothy? Wouldn't mind meeting up sometime if you would be up for that. I feel much more comfortable fishing the severn but I would like to really explore the magothy this year.
