Seems to be a lot of extra chatter about blue cats this year. I put together a video of some footage I got this past fall, showing how I target them. I use these simple techniques year round, nothing changes. I'm not a pro by any means this is just what works for me so I figured I'd share!

I'm actually a proponent of eating em out of the Potomac. Taste great, easy to clean, you get great fillets off em, and the 2016 research actually showed them to be much safer to eat than they had been reporting before.

I'll take em 25" and under all day, I just unfortunately didn't have time to clean fish that particular.

I have to make some time to get down that way this year. Big catfish have been on my target list for a few years now...but I always end up chasing other fish.

Cool video. Fished there for blue cats last spring, but not from a kayak. Kept 8 eaters and let a few bigger ones go including my personal best. Can't wait to go again this year. Maybe I'll take my new kayak next time.
