  • Magothy Action Thursday, Oct. 13

I launched from my neighborhood beach near Spriggs Pond at 9 am. Within 1 minute both rods went down at the same time in 5 feet of water about 100 yards from launch. A nice 20" rock (pic)hit the rattle trap on one rod while a 17" rock hit a paddle tail on copper colored jighead. In the next 90 minutes I landed 10 rockfish from 10" to 20" and five perch (all hit the rattletrap). Little/no wind, water temp was 65 degrees. No birds in sight but lots of fish biting.

Good report. Last year at this time the Magothy produced well too.

Mmhmm, I just wish the public launches were easier. Next year I'll have a cart and try them
