for about 9 years I've fished the lower Susquehanna up to Deercreek and use a 3.5 lb grapple anchor shackled at the front and zip tied on the rear, Currently ran through an anchor trolley and use an Anchor Wizard winch. It's hung on Rocks, trees and whatever on that bottom, each time I have broke it free easily and have never lost one yet. In current I keep my bow forward so if needed I can paddle or motor forward and break it free. I tried chains on that river and have had to cut a couple because the chain wedged so hard between rock cervices, there was no way no matter how hard I tried it wouldn't break free. No argument intended, that is what I use successfully and have experienced.
