  • Where is everyone going this weekend? (low temps & high winds)

With the Tropical Storm/Nor' Easter coming our way the weather looks iffy. 75 degrees and high winds (10-25)

Id love to go out tmrw (off work, great temps, g/f working til 7). Id prefer Fresh to Salt...but need to find a protected cove/creek etc. My boat doesnt do well in the wind.

I think the closer to the south/SE you go the worse its gonna be. Any suggestions? Where is everyone else going?

think I might stay home...watch some amazing college football, and clean up some tackle. My dog will be happy not being in the crate all day.

With the gusty winds in Southern Maryland in the outer rain bands, I think I will go to Bass Pro Shop and use some of the $ in my gift cards...terminal tackle is always useful- and see what they have on Labor Day sale...

I was up all last night babysitting 14lbs of pulled pork in my smoker. High winds play hell with charcoal smokers and I was fussing with vents until dawn when I decided to just finish it in the oven.

Tomorrow morning I am heading....somewhere local to bank fish for a bit. I don't think there is much near Annapolis that is really shielded from the wind. At least no freshwater spots.

The Patuxent river wouldn't be too bad, it's in the woods enough.

Tried the Pocomoke today but all of the ramps were either too flooded to launch or closed completely. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Floating the Potomac Monday morning from Brunswick to landers. Walked the c&o from the Brunswick Saturday to md heights and the water looked great.

Floated Pax at Hills bridge (waysons corner) Sat and Sun Morning with my Son.
We were the ONLY ones out Sat, water was choppy from the wind, and holding position when trying to work the banks was rough.
This morning (Sun) it was like glass with no wind from 7:00am to about 9:00, then the wind picked up, we headed in by noon.
2 kayakers put in about an hour behind us.

Slow fishing, zero fish for me (both days), my son caught 4 total.
I guess the lack of any Bass boats in this area should be a clue ??

                          Bass, Channel cats mostly.
very slow, 2 people fishing for 2 days - 4 fish caught. Compare that to 50+ fish a day on the Doah and South branch

There is a ramp at Brunswick, and at Landers.

I ended up on the Patuxent fishing for catfish.
