  • Late September on the bay

Hey everyone, I will be finishing up basic and AIT for the Army September 20th and I plan on taking the kayak out when I get home, as I haven't been able to use my new kayak even once since I got it last year. I'm looking for some stripers hoping I'm not too late. I went out to Kent narrows last year with a buddy and we got a bunch of white perch but I would like to get something bigger since I got a Native Manta 12' and I'll be more comfortable going out. Any tips or locations for late season would be much appreciated, thank you.

The water should be cooling at that point. You'll be able to find some fish.

Late September and October are probably the best month for striped bass fishing in chesapeake bay. They don't call it Rocktober around here for nothing. Trolling paddle tails relatively shallow in many of the rivers should find you fish.
