  • Its been a while...

Its been a while since the last time I posted any of my catches. Been so busy with school, daughter and am in the process of buying a house. But I always make time to fish. this summer has been outstanding in southern maryland, everything from perch, red drum, flounder, blues, rockfish, specks, mackerel, cobia and even butterfish. Ive also mastered to trotline off my propel and run 2 600 foot lines, best day so far ive caught a bushel in about 3 hrs and left them biting. here are some of the catches ive had in these last months. could you believe that ive only used one type of lure for all these catches? Ill say my lure when I feel the time is right. Ive spent alot of time on the water to test out what works and let me tell you, simpler is better. I tend to see myself only taking one rod and one lure out on most of my trips nowadays.

This sunday 8/20 I will be launching out of PLO and going after macks and blues if anyone is interested. This trip will not be short, 5-6 miles one way so keep that in mind.

    Enjoy the pictures.

What areas will you be fishing? Shipping channels? I haven't gone out in a couple of years in a kayak. I am going to head out to PLO this week. If I am still out on Sunday I might join you.

Possibly, depending on weather and traffic

I like to see you are finding small puppy drum around. Hopefully that means there was another good spawning class and we'll be in for an uptick in pups in the bay again here shortly!

Thanks for the pics. Congrats on running your trotline from your kayak and congrats on your new house. I have not fished the southern MD waters as much as I wanted to (sorry Ron, Bill, Rich, and Kevin), but I will try to get down there soon. Too many places to fish and so little time.
