  • Piney Point afternoon trip

Launched at 12:30 today- trolled through the bridge and hooked up right away- 19 inch striper- followed by a 17, 16, 18 and another 19...decided I would seek different location to try to get a keeper so I headed across the creek and trolled the 5 foot line for a while- using Sea Assassins on 1/4 jigheads- same results- another 19 inch striper followed by a 16, 17, 17, 19...no 20 inch fish...I caught four really nice white perch- 2- 11 (+) inch and 2- 10 1/2 inch perch...that came home with me...a 12 inch, 14 and 12 inch redfish...next year they will all be keepers...and I got to test my Jackson Elite seat upgrade- seat worked fine- the only fly in the ointment is the rudder control is a bit hard to reach, but I will adjust the seat anchor location to fix that...

Keeper rocks have been tough to get. Very productive day and encouraged by your red drum catches.

          Ron -

That was a productive day. I'm pleased to hear that reds are showing up this summer. Send a few northward.

Sorry- I was sending them to you and Bill, Kevin- I could have sent you a bunch more, but didn't...the first 20 or so fish, I was all about catching, not photographing..

Went out last night and croakers and small reds were around, inlet side, with the big bite starting at 10p. By that time the rains and lightning were coming in so I hightailed it home.
