  • Crabs yet?

Has anyone been catching any legal blue crabs? Are there good numbers? Thinking of taking a family trip about 4 hours down from WV and trying to catch a mess of them but do not want to waste our time if they aren't in numbers. Would appreciate the heads up if possible.

Not much in the Southern Maryland areas. Sounds like the lower Bay / VA is the ticket

According to VIMS this is going to be a great year for blue crabs...and if that is true, we will see a great year fishing the bay for crab eating species- redfish, speckled trout, cobia, and striped bass...all love crabs...and if you are extremely lucky possibly a stray tarpon on the sloughs on Eastern Shore in late July early August...

My son in law's brother and sister caught 48 last Fri. in the Rhoades River but they all were light. Then my son in law and my grandson went and caught 50 Monday in the same river but all were light.
