I lost a pair of the plastic grips this spring when they were still clamped on the jaw of a fish that squirmed off the Hawg Trough. Floating doesn't matter under those conditions.

Yeah I have the 30lb Lucid. Members of another board (I forget which) were hyping em up so I bought some. Ive never owned Bogas so I cant compare, but the lucid has held up like new after a year of freshwater.

I tried Hemingways magnet test and there is a very faint attraction. The magnet doesnt actually stick to it, but I can feel it in a couple spots. Seems to be the two pins/rivets that connect the "elbows" of the jaws

I have had my 30 lb boga for about 5 years now. I rarely ever wash it and maybe give it one spray with wd-40 every year and it works flawlessly. I've successfully used it for 40 lb stripers, 40 lb flatheads and 50+ lb black drum. The only time I had a problem was when I used it to club a bluefish and it seized up for a little. So as long as you don't do that I don't think you can break them. I've also heard good things about the lucid grips and would pick one up if I ever lost my boga overboard.

I think ANY boga/lucid grip type of deal that allows the fish to spin freely at the side of the boat is better for the fish. When I was using the fish grips I remember how painful it seemed when I would grab a fish and it would thrash around and either try to break my wrist or rip its face off because the fish grips don't rotate. Just my .2 cents

Yes. I plan to be at St Mary's Lake Sat morning by 8:00. I will show how I rigged my Slayer Propel 10 and show other gear and accessories I use. I am happy to stay around as long as necessary to answer questions.

I will give several samples of 12 Fathom soft plastics to any Snaggedline member who comes to the demo and introduces themselves to me.

The price only hurts once. Unless you lose them overboard, of course. A float or leash is a must.

The lucid brand looks good, surprised there is not a patent issue as they look nearly identical to the boga.

I have used the Lucids for over a month now and love them. They have seen action on my PB's for Rockfish and blues.

I have used Boga's, but not extensively. I see very little difference in the products, other than the price.

I give them 2 thumbs up!
