April 18th Stripers

I have had a pretty good weekend. I caught 4 stripers this morning and lost another large fish when the hook pulled. That one was just screeming line off the reel. I tighted the drag down, applied the thumb and the hook pulled. All I got for my effort was a piece of skin and a scale. However , I did land this fish, and released.

On Saturday, these are two of the three fish caught, when I was out fishing with friends on their boat.

I am going out again tomorrow. It seems like the earlier the better. I just have to take advantage of this weather.

Sorry, no, I don't fish the bridge. Generally, it is too crowded for me.

I too mostly catch and release, except in the case of a badly hooked fish, which is not likey to survive. However, as I explained in another post, I was fishing with folks new here from Florida. They wanted to try eating some striper. After, two they also started catch and release.
