2016 Goals

New year everyone.
New year means new fishing goals.

What are some of the goals everyone has planned out for this season?


A few of mine are to
Fish more
Meet more people
More videos ( i have really taken a liking to this )
Fish the MD bass tournaments as much as I can
Break the 5.5lb mark out of the reservoirs

Break the 26.5 Mark for a Pickerel this year.



Well lets hear some goals or plans you guys have for this new season ! Look forward to hearing

Here we go:

Fish more (obviously)
Build more rods
Fish salt water for the first time

Looking for a WV citation sunfish and citation channel catfish this season, as well as make more than one trip to fish tidal waters. Planning to do more night fishing for catfish. Would love to make it to a meet & greet, I think that will be one of the first goals I accomplish this year.

1. Meet and welcome more folks to the OGWLF group
2. Catch my first ever redfish
3. Catch a MD citation fish of any species (my first ever) and make sure my camera is ready to record it
4. Make some new styles of jigs, spinners and foam poppers
5. Visit Tampa as often as I can this winter and spring when it's too cold to comfortably fish here
6. Have as many overnight fishing get-aways as possible to DE, PA and VA
7. Visit Raptor at his new NC home so I can follow him again on the water and catch his leftovers -- much better than relying on my FF

1. Kayak cobia.
2. Do more overnights on ESVA islands.
3. Do a few guided trips through Hobie First Cast to spread the addictiveness of this style of fishing.

Fish as much as I can with my 12 year old daughter now that I have a Tarpon 10 to put her in. I am really looking forward to this spring/summer/fall. I have resigned that I will likely catch less fish as I will be concentrating on my daughter. I also plan on catching one large spring run striper.

1. Fish with my 18 year old son more.
2. Make more quick trips (3 hours or less).
3. Figure out how to kayak fish in Duck, NC, OBX.
4. Fly rod smallies on the Upper Potomac.
5. Fly rod fish at Rocky Gorge.

This years goals for myself
-catch another citation (but record it)
-take at least 1 new person kayak fishing
-weekend kayak camping trip
-attend at least 3 meet and greets
-catch 2 new species (redfish and large bluecat would be my goals)
Soooo if anyone knows some good catfish spots in the spring I'm willing to paddle along and learn!

Well seeing as though I only got out like 5 times in 2015, the bar has been set pretty low for me.
