  • Reel Repair?

Anybody know somebody local that repairs reels? I have one that I cannot figure out that I need some help with. Alltackle repairs reels, but only their OC shop which is not convenient.

I am not sure where you are but I am assuming Pasadena? I use Jerry Sersen and he has done really good work on my fleet of Shimanos. Jerry is a Shimano certified guy. Jerry is also an all around good guy.

I typically do all my own repairs, but this one is really stumping me. Damn Japanese and their complex engineering!

I sent Jerry an email, still waiting to hear back. He looks like the guy.

Decided to give it one more go tonight after digging out the original schematic. All I had before was a similar model schematic I found online which turned out to be fine. The only thing I did differently, that I'm aware of, is grease/oil a few parts. The thumb bar was not disengaging/re-engaging properly, seems flawless now. All this after a turtle and my reel filled with sand.

Anyway, good to know there is a guy close if something comes up again.
