  • Bay Bridge Report 6/30

Launched at SPSP this a.m. to fish the bridge. Conditions were quite interesting. The wind was out of the NNW, and had been for some time as there were considerable swells coming down the bay. Tide was incoming, pretty strong. So picture this if you will. Wind pushing down the bay, tide pushing up the bay. I was facing upstream of the tide, with the wind to my back and the tide was actually winning the battle just slightly. It was amazingly easy to remain in position. Anyway, was only there for about an hour or so before I was paddling back with 2 nice fish.

Very nice report and good job on the fish. That combination of wind and tide sounds perfect for jigging the pylons.

Tell me when. I live 10 min. from the bridge and I will go fishing at the drop of a hat.

Just jigging. 6" chartreuse jig was the ticket.

Nice work on the stripers. It's a rare day when the tide and wind work to your advantage.

I'm going to have to come out with you sometime. I've had no luck on stripers fishing the bridge so far. How far out/how deep did you go to find them?
