Perhaps ‘infested’ was the right word when croaker hit any baits and lures. It was impossible to hook other species except small black sea bass. Croaker at 13-15” were there in full force.
I caught many small sea bass, many oyster toadfish, and croakers. I caught 3 blowfish too.
HokieDJ hooked a bull red. But the fish broke the leader. Later we found a pilings holding triggerfish. It was one of the bad fishing days because I couldn’t do much because of the croaker.
My wife and I had a taco night. I made ceviche out of triggerfish, and for the first time, I made fish tacos out of croaker. Unexpectedly, croaker fish tacos were good.
