  • 1st Annual CCA MD Baltimore Chapter Roctober Cup - October 10th

Now that the 2015 CBKA tournament is successfully in the books I wanted to bring up another local tournament. The CCA Baltimore chapter will be hosting its first annual Roctober Cup this coming October 10th. Fishing in the Patapsaco is starting to heat up and the event looks like it should be a lot of fun! The awards ceremony will be at Little Havana which is walking distance for me so I definitely plan on attending!

First place prize is a week long trip to the keys with airfare included... more info - http://www.ccamd.org/?ai1ec_event=ro...stance_id=2416

You can buy the shirts on their web site. Several different styles to choose from.

I reached out to the coordinator to ask about a kayak specific division. I think that there isn't one planned and it's just $50 per angler competing for 1st/2nd/3rd place prices + calcutta's (extra money to enter)

Thanks mike, however I'm a little slow on Mondays haha, so does this mean we can enter still with a yak and compete?

Yes this is right from the rules sheet

No angler may begin fishing on tournament day (10.10.15) before 5:00 am. Anglers may use any legal method to catch fish considered for entry (i.e., light tackle jigging, lure, fly, live lining, bait, trolling…etc.) Anglers may fish from a boat, a kayak, pier or shoreline.

Maybe add a Calcutta for Kayaks as well?

Guys, thanks for the interest. I apologize for taking a minute to get online. My name is Frank, and I am the CCA Baltimore president. I am happy to answer any questions here. It was our first year organizing a tourney and we wanted to devise a concept where there are no separate divisions. By doing this we were able to secure a larger prize. I understand if it is not your cup of tea to compete with out a specific Kayak division, however, we welcome everyone in the tourney to compete.

This is the first year of this tourney and I promise we will consider the results in planning for next year. This is going to a good cause, both Bluewater Baltimore and CCA do good work for the Patapsco River and upper bay. In addition, if you have not been to Little Havana, check it out. This is going to be a good party!!

Kayaks beat boats most of the time anyway

I'm going to try to make it.

If Alan's photos from the Patapsco are any indication, he has out fished me 10-1 on the Patapsco!
