Hello this is my first post up here, I'm planning to fish off jane's island and a bunch of other areas around tangier sound over the next couple of months. Just looking out for some general info on how the fishing has been from anyone who has been around there lately.

Top water around the Island shallows have been productive for small rock, some larger mixed in certain areas. My dad has been doing ok bottom jigging in deeper water (25-35 ft) near channel out of the boat... too far out for my kayak. I haven't been over that way since late June/early July but the fishing should be getting better as fall approaches. Top water and paddle tails should produce plenty of stripers. It's a good area for specks too if any are around. Blues will likely be there too.
