My re-entry was my own fault, I should have gone sidesaddle while trying to rummage around in my crate, and ended up leaning backward (sideways over the gunnel) when I fell off. My kayak got to about a 30 or 40ยบ angle, I went splash, and the kayak went back to straight and level.

Been there, tried to get my rudder unhung from the bungee (I had unhitched it but it was still hung) leaned way back and over just a bit - plunk - just as neat as you please I was swimming. The Outback went back "straight and level" as you say. Thought I escaped with no losses but later realized I had lost my glasses to the bottom of Lake Champlain . . . . KA-CHING. Note to self - if rudder is hung paddle back to shore and fix it.
