  • Lake Anna - Stripers

Fished Lake Anna yesterday with Goody. We launched at 8:30AM to a brisk 28 degrees and by 1PM the sun came out and the wind died to make it a beautiful day of fishing. Coincidentally that was when the fishing picked up as well. I ended up with 8 stripers all at 17" and Goody got 10 with 1 keeper at the 20" mark. Lake Anna is a good holdover but it's time to hit the bay.

Nice. That's quite the school of fish on the screen.

Cold start in the morning at Lake Anna, 28 degrees, but it warmed up and got up to 40s by afternoon. Had 5mph wind in the early morning. Here are some more pictures of the fish I caught. Ended up catching lots of 17.5", 18" and a 20".

        Nice work.

How did you catch them? Jig, troll, other...

I wonder what causes those broken stripes on Goody's last striper pictured?

Yes Lake Anna is a darn good place before the Bay season starts.
          Good job catching a keeper.

I caught all mine trolling. Tried jigging but it didn't produce. I thought that was interesting too how the stripes were not even.

              Goody,

              Thank you.

I've seen a broken pattern on white bass x striper hybrids but that's a striper you caught.

              Interesting indeed.
