  • flipping pitching setup

What are you guys using for your flipping/pitching setup when kayaking? Heavy/ med/hvy? fast or x fast? How big are your rods?

I generally have 3 set ups. For flipping I use a 7' M/H fast action with a 7:1 baitcasting reel.

I have a 7'1 H Duckett Micro Magic with a 7:1:1 Abu Garcia Revo SX

So light, so smooth, and just sticks fish

the H in a duckett is a MH for other rods

Punching: shimano crucial hvy action punching Rod, 65lb braid, left hand Abu Garcia revo 7:3:1

Flipping: 7'1" Johnny Morris Rod daiwa tatula RS left hand 20lb fluorocarbon

I really like left hand reels for these applications. Not having to constantly shift hands is nice.
