  • CBKA/Snaggedline Scholarship Donation

Some of you may have heard that Paul Lebowitz of Kayak Fishing Magazine and his wife Susan recently lost their 18 year old son, James. Paul is one of the first writers to support and promote kayak fishing. James' death was sudden caused by an aneurysm in the back of his neck. Paul and Susan immediately put out the word of his death and that they would donate James organs. Long story short, someone saw the post about the organ donation who knew about an avid fishermen who needed a kidney. James kidney was a match. You can read the story here. A scholarship fund has been set up in James name at Cal-Poly Pomona.

CBKA made a donation of $200 to the scholarship fund, because so many of you who support our tournament are on this forum we also included Snaggedline.com as being part of this donation. we wanted to acknowledge you for supporting our efforts.

You can read more about the donation here. Kayak fishing has become a great sport and there is also a since of community, not sure why this has happened but seems to be the same all over the country. Must be the common enjoyment of time on the water, catching the big fish and knowing that safety is first and we watch out for each other.

Such a tragedy. 18 years young. Wow.

Where ever we can help. This is what CBKA is all about. Make-a-Wish Mid-Atlantic supports our local kids and the Coastal Conservation Assoc. of MD. fights for our fish. On top of that we're able to provide support for like minded folks all the way across the country! The support this community provides is phenomenal!! Thank you all!
