  • Saturday 1/31 perch

Anyone not going to the flea market interested in going out Saturday for yellow perch? I'm thinking of launching from Jean Roberts around 9ish, assuming it is not frozen.

Wind will keep me home before cold will. I had thought the winds were just for Friday. Thanks for the heads up.

I am finding this a useful online tool for wind predictions. I just locate the closest weather station to where I intend to fish.

I might try Sunday. Saturday definitely doesn't look good.

Lots of ice today. Most was around 1/4 inch thick and broken up enough to push through on the HdG side. I couldn't get across to the Perryville side because the ice was thicker and not broken up at all. Saw a couple of boats that had to take it really slow getting through.

I tried fishing between the docks in HdG and the main channel in depths from 5 to 30 feet with no luck.

When I got back to the ramp there were chunks of ice pushed up that were at least an inch thick.

Wow, thanks for the report. I almost went up there today. Glad I didn't for a few reasons....a big striper was the other reason :-)

That thing would probably eat whatever eats the perch I was after. Nice catch!
