  • Paddle measureing tape

I've seen a few peoples pictures on here with a measuring tape on their paddle. I have a "hawg trough like" device I bring with me but if I ever get something greater than 30" I'd be out of luck. In most cases I wouldn't care if I know the exact number but if I'd need it for a CPR event that would be different. What brand/type of sticker do you use for you paddle? Where did you get them? How do the hold up?

PS. Ignore my blatent misspelling of the word measuring in the title.

Got mine from the CBKA tourney last September, it's holding up well. Does have one little spot that peeled off in the center where the paddle is put together.

I use a Hawg Trough primarily though...since I've yet to catch a fish longer than 31".

I tried one, I think from bass pro, that wouldn't stay in place. It said and twisted a little over time so I just pulled it off. I'll probably just carry a cheap tape measure in my pfd pocket in case I need it this year.

        Hobie guys need paddles???

My Bending Branches paddle came with a measuring tape painted on it, but my hands are pretty rough and I quickly wore off the paint around where I normally grip for paddling. Wouldn't recommend the painted tapes on paddles if you've looked that way.

            I know, just poking fun.

It'll be nice to have when you get one too big for the hawg trawl!

The "required by law" was sarcasm too.

That's actually the one I have. I was thinking it only went to 30" though. Guess I remembered wrong.

I thought about getting one of those originally, but was reading that kayak tournaments will be going to Hawg Trough as the only acceptable measuring device this year. Not that I fish many tourneys, but might as well be prepared for the few I do.

This is the one I just put on my paddle. A little pricey but seems to be of high quality. Wishful thinking on my part to think I'll ever need 48" :-)

All tackle I'm Annapolis has a 50" sticker tape for about $5. I have that on my paddle.

How does it hold up? Been there long?

I've had it on there for over a year. It's water resistant should last a while.
