  • Morning Star Fishing Report

We went out on Sunday 11/16...weather was perfect, flat calm seas. Fished with father-in-law and company. First time on a head boat. Thanks to MetroMan for the tips.

Target was black sea bass. The whole boat limited out. I wasn't sure I had the gear to hold 6-8 oz so I used the rods that the boat provided. The tally for my group of three was 45 BSB, 1 trigger, 2 blues (30 in range). A huge tog was pulled in as well, estimating at about 11 lbs. Clams and vertical jigging were the methods used to catch 'em.

Couldn't have asked for a better day to be out in the blue water.

On another note, anybody here belong to the MSSA?

Nice report. Is this Capt Monty? Been trying to get on his boat for a couple years keep losing trips to weather.

Glad you guys had a good trip and good weather conditions. For a first time on a head boat, you could not have picked a better boat & captain for a positive experience. I used to be a member of the DC MSSA. But I haven't renewed my membership in a couple of years now.
