Susquehanna Flats 10/31/14

Fished the flats this morning. Launched just before dawn and head south towards the grass beds. Threw a popper and was rewarded with a few stripers.

Once the sun started peaking over the horizon I started trolling the edges of the grass beds concentrating my efforts near the mouth of ditch #1 (Alan's map for reference). Found a smaller ditch and started catching stripers on every pass. All fish were caught on an umbrella rig with a 1oz bucktail as the stinger. Landed 14 rockfish with 22" being the largest. As promised I only kept one keeper...remind me never to do that again!

We had a good outing today as well and got a bunch of keeper size Rock on the umbrella rig as well. Those things are fantastic!

Wish I knew you were going out. I went Friday morning too. Was going to launch at tydings at dawn but at the last minute decided to launch further south and fish around locust point. I didn't get anything so I guess I made the wrong choice.

I just grilled it in a fish basket with some sliced veggies, nothing fancy.

I work on APG so I actually launched from the marina on post.
