Gps not finding satellites

I have a elite4 dsi that will not find satellites.how can I make it find them on my unit thanks.i looked at the Manuel n can't seem to work it

Make sure you are out in the open (not in a garage or basement). The unit should pick up satellites automatically. If it does not, it may not be functioning. If it is still under warranty, you can contact the company from whom you bought it.

One other idea is to make sure that there are not any software updates for that model. The Lowrance website has different versions of the software available for downloading.

Thanks I bought it used so I'll have to see if there's a update I used it out on the water n still can't find satellites

Yeah there's a update for it on there website

GPS units need to download the "almanac" periodically. If it hasn't updated recently it will take a while before it locks in.

15 minutes outside should be all it takes for almanac download.

elite 4x dsi doesn't. The X in the model names mean non-gps version.
